A medium green leather shoulder bag, with hand-batik butterflies and dragonflies rising from a meadow of grasses across the lower body.
Made by artisans in Bolpur, in Birbhum district of West Bengal — the leather-batik craft here grew around Santiniketan. The leather is full-grain, hand-cut into a tall structured silhouette. The green is dyed deep, like a wet leaf; the butterflies in red, pink, orange and purple rise from thin stems of grass, each wing and antenna drawn on by hand before the dye sets.
