A Chanderi cotton saree in black and white, with a quiet ink-blue running through the prints. Hand block-printed, kantha-stitched.
Hand-woven in Chanderi, a weaving town in Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The cotton here is fine, lightweight, slightly sheer — the kind that breathes through April. The block prints are stamped one motif at a time, by hand, with the ink-blue laid in over the white as a second pass. The kantha — small running-stitches you only see up close — was added after, in a third slow pass over the fabric.
